Guoheng Xu received his bachelor degree (MD equivalent) of medicine in 1987 and received his master degree in Pharmacology in 1990, from Henan Medical University (China). Then he joined as a faculty at the Department of Pharmacology in the same university. In 1995, he earned his PhD degree at the Department of Pharmacology of Sun Y Medical University (Guangzhou, China). After then he became a postdoctoral fellow at Beijing University Neuroscience Institute. From 1997 to 2002, He worked as a visiting fellow at the U.S National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and then in the U.S. National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institute of Health (NIH), Maryland, USA. He returned to China at the end of 2002, and then was appointed as a professor at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Beijing University Health Science Center. He is also principle investigator at Beijing University Diabetes Center and at the Key Laboratory of Molecular Cardiovascular Sciences, Ministry of Education of China.

研究方向:

2. 细胞内脂滴与脂滴包被蛋白的功能调控

甘油三酯储存在脂肪细胞内的油滴中。Perilipin等几种同源蛋白质分子覆盖在细胞内脂滴表面,参与脂滴的生成、储存、分解调控。脂滴包被蛋白Perilipin和ADRP的时序性表达与脂滴成长和脂肪细胞的分化成熟密切相关,因而在PPARγ介导的脂肪生成与脂肪细胞分化过程中起关键作用。脂肪组织甘油三酯水解释放游离脂肪酸到血液和各种组织。脂肪分解异常与血脂紊乱、肥胖、糖尿病胰岛素抵抗密切相关。我们发现Perilipin磷酸化和去磷酸化可门控性调节脂肪分解反应;激素及药物可通过Perilipin调节脂肪酸运动,进而影响胰岛素敏感性。我们研究脂滴包被蛋白及其调控甘油三酯水解的分子机制,并研究生理和病理情况下影响脂肪分解、肥胖、胰岛素敏感性、泡沫细胞形成的细胞和分子生物学调控机制。
